The award-winning Apex City of Bath Hotel is celebrating a successful first year of conference and events, in which it brought in more than half a million pounds to the local economy.

The £50 million property, which opened on James Street West last August, is Bath’s largest and its only purpose-built city centre conference facility.
Since beginning to accept conference and events bookings in September 2017, the hotel has welcomed more than 20,000 delegates to the city.
With Apex City of Bath Hotel competing against other cities and venues on a national scale, the team has had to think outside the box and bring in both creative and innovative measures to attract companies who would not normally bring their business to the city.
Apex’s #WarmerWelcome campaign, featuring brand ambassador Celynn Morin, a registered dietitian and wellbeing expert, was launched in Bath and has proved so successful, it has now been rolled out across all Apex properties across the UK.
Residential conference guests to the Bath hotel will find in-room tips and guidance on how to get the best out of their stay at Apex – whether they want to rejuvenate, focus or relax – and can download an exclusive Apex podcast series created especially for visitors, with even more information on health and wellbeing.
Apex also uses innovative technology to provide conference and event organisers with an extra level of support to run an incredible event.
The Apex Events App, unique to the hotel group, allows organisers to communicate with their attendees, collaborate and present to them throughout the day, and then capture their feedback afterwards.
With 311 events of various sizes, and accommodating 88 groups to the end of May 2018, Apex City of Bath Hotel’s conference facilities, suitable for up to 400 guests, has played host to both key regional social events such as the annual Bath Rugby shirt sponsor dinner and Bath Business Awards, alongside international conferences including BP Castrol, which hosted 70 guests from across Europe over three days.
Phil Bailey, Group Meetings, Incentives, Conference and Events Sales Manager at Apex City of Bath Hotel, said: “We have been thrilled with the uptake of businesses using our state of the art conferencing facilities here at the hotel.
“By attracting events from businesses within the UK and beyond, we are helping to bring tourists to the city and giving the local economy a boost, which is great news for Bath.
“As well as the excellent facilities on offer at Apex City of Bath Hotel, the city is steeped in history and is home to the world famous Roman Baths – a real attraction to companies.
“Apex City of Bath Hotel complements everything that’s going on in the city and is the perfect base for those wishing to host a conference or event with a difference.
“Our team here provides a personal service and signature warmer welcome to every guest and delegate, ensuring their time with Apex is productive and memorable.
“We are looking forward to another successful year welcoming guests and businesses – both nationally and internationally – to this stunning city.”
