The Apex City of Bath Hotel is celebrating a successful 2018 for its conference and events facilities, which brought in over £1 million, solidifying its place as one of the area’s top purpose-built facilities.

The £50 million property, which opened on the city’s James Street West in 2017, is Bath’s largest and only purpose-built city centre conference facility.

Housing eight meeting spaces and catering for flagship company conferences to private weddings, 2018 saw the hotel welcome 677 conferences and events to the city, including 400 attendees for the British International Studies Association’s annual four day conference.

Outside of conference and events, room figures for the hotel equated to £6 million and 48,000 room nights over the 12 months.

Phil Bailey, Group Meetings Incentives Conference and Events Sales Manager at Apex City of Bath Hotel, said: “We’ve had an exceptional 2018 where conference and events is concerned, having built on an already successful debut, we have now cemented ourselves as the premier location for conference and events of all sizes in the city of Bath.

“In attracting both domestic and international business into city, we have helped lift tourism figures and give a vital boost to the local economy.

“Our team here provides a personal service and a signature warmer welcome to every guest and delegate, ensuring their time with Apex is both productive and memorable.

“As we move into a new year, we are confident that our successful run will continue and look forward to welcoming both new and retuning guests and businesses in 2019.”

Over the last twelve months, the team at Apex City of Bath Hotel have built a strong stable of clients, including conference and events specialists KC Jones, who have used the hotel’s state-of-the-art facilities across their client portfolio on numerous occasions.

Tammy Pratt, Event Manager at KC Jones added: “The Apex City of Bath is a perfect juxtaposition of a modern hotel sympathetically presented in the centre of Bath, providing a much needed large-scale conference venue in the city.

“Our clients are excited to have the option of visiting such a historic city while benefitting from professional conferencing services under the same roof as high quality accommodation.”
