Small and medium sized businesses in Bath are being invited to a free workshop packed with advice on how to get grants to secure their sustainable growth and save on energy bills.
Bath & North East Somerset Council is working with the Carbon Trust Green Business Fund, which is running the workshop on 5th September in the Guildhall, Bath from 9am-12 noon.
The workshop will cover advice on understanding and reducing energy bills through behavioural and low-cost measures; focus on major areas of energy consumption such as heating and lighting and provide access to funding and funded one-to-one support.
The Carbon Trust Green Business Fund is an energy efficiency support service for small and medium sized businesses in England, Wales and Scotland.
It provides direct funded support through energy assessments, training workshops, buying equipment and up to £5,000 capital contribution towards buying energy-saving equipment.
Councillor Mark Shelford, cabinet member for Transport and Environment, said: “I would urge any small or medium-sized business to sign up for this workshop if they want to ensure sustainable and effective growth in the future.
“The Carbon Trust Green Business Fund will provide independent and expert advice for free and point business owners in the right direction when it comes to applying for grants. ”
Locally it has recently helped Saltford Hall with a grant to help install solar panels so the business can generate its own power and reduce its energy bills.
