Bath’s Park & Ride Set For Oyster Style Payment Cards

A new system of paying to park and ride across Bath is being introduced on Monday, in a new and easier way to pay for your journey.

The new Travel+ contactless multi-journey smart card can be used to pay for your journeys on Bath’s Park & Ride buses, so you no longer have to worry about having the correct change with you.

The introduction of the system on the park and ride buses is part of a trial to use the contactless smart cards across the entire network of First buses across the area.

With a journey time of just 10 minutes to the centre of Bath, it’s quick, easy and greener to use the park and ride services that are available.

Councillor Caroline Roberts said: “It is really important that the council and First make park-and-ride journeys as convenient as possible for people who want to use this quick, green form of public transport.

“Multi-journey smartcards are a crucial part of enhancing the customer experience, particularly for those commuters who use the service daily with a 10 journey ticket who must currently store a piece of paper in their pockets which can easily get lost.”

When you get your card, it’ll be really easy to use and top up – simply follow the instructions supplied with the card.

You’ll be able to get a Park & Ride multi-journey smart card from a Park & Ride bus driver, or from the First Travel Shop in Bath Bus Station.

The card can be loaded with up to 30 journeys in blocks of 10. The cost of 10 journeys is £13.

You can pay by cash if you buy from your driver or by cash or credit/debit card if you get your card from the Travel Shop.

You can then use your multi-journey smart card instead of cash whenever you use the Park & Ride buses.
