The opening schedule of the new Primark store in Bath has been announced, with thousands of locals set to take advantage of cheaper clothing and accessories provided by the brand.

The company has confirmed that it will be opening its doors in the summer.

Primark was recently given planning permission from Bath and North East Somerset Council to modify the former BHS building and make it more suitable for their needs.

The changes include a new entrance to the store, and general layout modifications including new escalators.

Waterproofing of the vaults of the shop and the basement are also expected to take place after permission was granted for the work.

Local residents have welcomed the news, with most of them currently travelling to Bristol to take advantage of the cheaper clothing on offer from the retailer.

BHS on Stall Street closed in December last year to make way for the new Primark store, a deal which the two companies have now completed a number of times.

A BHS in Cardiff is currently being converted into a Primark, and in 2010 there were ten BHS stores which were taken over by Primark.

We’ll have the exact date of the opening of Primark in Bath very soon, so keep an eye out for the latest updates.
