As the clock’s go forward this weekend, the Bath BID Rangers are launching a new initiative designed to help spring Bath businesses into action during April.

“Keep Bath Tidy” is the motto of their campaign and they are asking all city centre businesses to look out for areas near their premises that could benefit from a bit of up-keep, a clean or a general tidy.

They are asking them to alert them to what is required using the @bathbid twitter account and the hashtag #keepbathtidy.

The BID Rangers service is free to city centre businesses and they respond to requests daily for help with general maintenance and spot cleaning and are available Monday to Friday from 7.30am – 5pm and from 8am to 12 noon on Saturdays.

During 2013, the BID Rangers responded to over 700 requests from businesses.

Andrew Cooper, Chief Executive of the Bath BID Company said: “This initiative is part of an ongoing campaign to help give practical support to city centre businesses.

“Our BID Rangers are highly professional and have the expertise to deal with a range of general maintenance and cleaning issues.   Spring is an ideal time for us to identify the jobs around the city centre that we can manage and help to ‘polish’ up the city in time for the summer and get ready for one of our busiest times of year.

“It is nice to think that we can contribute to making Bath just that little bit extra special and a pleasure to visit because it is well maintained and looked after.”

Many local businesses have benefited from the BID Rangers support and have also worked alongside the team to get jobs done.

Paul Pearson, franchisee of McDonalds in Southgate, whose team from McDonald’s volunteered to spend a day painting bollards and street furniture in Milsom Street last year is helping the Bath BID Company to champion the initiative.

He said: “My team are very committed and indeed proud to be working with the BID, the council and the residents of Bath in keeping our City looking so beautiful. I believe this is an excellent initiative that will make a big impact.

“The BID Rangers are an extremely valuable resource that can take away the stress of day to day tasks that you mean to get round to but just can’t find the time.  They are friendly and willing to help whenever they can.”

To alert the BID rangers to an area in need of attention either use the @bathbid account or call the BID office 01225 430640.
