Firefighters have rescued a Jack Russell dog after it became trapped down a hole while taking a walk with his owner on Thursday.
Harvey the Jack Russell was safely rescued by the firefighters after becoming trapped down the hole in Brown Folly in Bathford.
One crew from Bath Fire Station were called in after the pet disappeared down an opening under a large boulder.
When he didn’t resurface his anxious owner requested help from the fire service.
Although fire crews could hear Harvey, numerous efforts to coax him to safety failed.
In an operation lasting around two and a half hours, the firefighters managed to dig their way nearer to the missing pet.
With the light fading firefighters finally got sight of Harvey and were able to pull him to safety.
He was quickly reunited, unharmed, with his owner.
