Artists, designers and photographers will be showcasing hundreds of pieces of artwork at their end of year show, starting today at City of Bath College.
Vision is an ever-popular annual visual arts show featuring the innovative and inspiring work of more than 200 students from City of Bath College.
The two-day show is open to the public on Friday, 20th June from 10am to 4pm and Saturday, 21st June from 10am to 3pm.
It will feature a diverse range of art, including fine art, textiles, fashion design, 3D drawings, sculpture, photography, printmaking and new media.
Head of Art and Design Dave Merriman said the show was a celebration of the students’ hard work and commitment throughout the year.
He said: “The standard and breadth of learner work is exemplary. Central to the continuing success of the Art Department is our core ethos; linking both traditional skills and new technologies to promote creativity and confidence.
“Students share a great sense of belonging here; they are closely knit and highly skilled. We continue to develop opportunities to get more people involved in the arts at all levels.”
The show is always a highlight on the College’s calendar and students make the most of the opportunity to get their work seen before many of them go on to study at some of the country’s top universities.
The Art and Design department has an excellent reputation for producing young artists and has been graded ‘outstanding’ in four consecutive Ofsted inspections.
City of Bath College is extending its full-time programme of Art and Design courses next year to include Product Design and Love2learn part-time courses include subjects as diverse as upholstery, photojournalism and paper making.
