Bath shoppers making the most of the opportunity to shop in the city are invited to enter a competition to drive a Mini Cooper Paceman for a year.

Wellsway MINI has offered the prize for the Bath BID Company’s your city your time festive campaign supporting businesses in the city.

Wellsway Mini’s Managing Director Martyn Read said: “Wellsway MINI are delighted to support Bath BID by supplying a fantastic New MINI Cooper Paceman for 12 months free loan to the lucky winner. As a long established local company we are happy to be involved in local initiatives which contribute to, and celebrate the success of the city and surrounding areas.”

The your city your time campaign draws attention to the superb range of shops in Bath including all the major brands as well as Bath independents with selections of gifts you do not see on the high street.

Shoppers can enter online at BathAtChristmas.co.uk/mini (full terms and conditions are available). Alternatively there will be opportunities to complete an entry by the mini which will be located in the city centre.

The campaign is funded by the Bath BID Company (Bath BID) with support from Bath Tourism Plus.

Bath BID Manager Andrew Cooper said: “This is the time of year that Bath really comes into its own. We are fortunate to have such a thriving retail scene with wonderful independents as well as all the familiar high street names. This year we are prompting people who live in or near to the city to get out shopping early to make the most of the new range of gifts in store, as well as beating the festive rush.”

Christmas is a time for sharing so shoppers will be invited to share their great finds and top tips to create a real sense of the Christmas community. Bath shoppers will be encouraged to tweet their best buys and top tips as well as ask for advice and gift suggestions using #askbath. The “gift genie” will be on hand to help and make shopping time productive and fun.

Nick Brooks-Sykes, CEO Bath Tourism Plus said: “Visitors come from far and wide to view Bath at its most festive but it is sometimes taken for granted that Bath is the region’s most beautiful shopping destination. Living in a World Heritage city means that there is no need to travel far to find a place to shop with character and style as well as that seasonal atmosphere and magical sense of anticipation.”

With its Christmas Lights adding sparkle to the World Heritage city, Bath makes the perfect choice for Christmas shopping as it is such a compact and walkable city as well as being packed with great cafés and restaurants, offering a frequent Park & Ride service with extended hours during the pre-Christmas season and late night shopping.
