A popular footbridge in Bath is to close this weekend while emergency repair work is undertaken.
Halfpenny Bridge in Widcombe will be closed to the public on Saturday from 8am in the morning to 12pm in the afternoon while repair teams get to work on the structure.
The bridge was closed for refurbishment work back in April for a period of nine weeks which included removing the original paint, repairing minor problems with the structure and then applying protective paint.
The footbridge provides a link between Widcombe to the rear of Bath Spa station.
The Council haven’t gone into detail as to what the emergency repairs are but have said that they “apologise for any inconvenience caused and the restrictions will be lifted as soon as the works are complete.”
