Bath Ales has produced five top tips on how to the make the most of a beer festival to ensure race goers enjoy its annual beer festival race night, taking place this evening.
More than 20 guest beers will be on offer at this year’s event by Bath Ales, who are the official beer supplier of the racecourse.
“With so many beers on offer its can be difficult to know where to start and for those people who are not regular real ale drinkers we felt a sampling guide would be helpful so that they can try a number of different beers without getting too inebriated” said Mark Harding, Sales Director at Bath Ales.
“We will be handing out copies of our tips on the evening and there will be plenty of Bath Ales colleagues on hand to make suggestions and answer any questions.”
Award-winning brewery, Bath Ales has been a prominent feature at the Lansdown course over the last 12 years and is an integral part of the Racecourse’s annual beer festival, which has grown in popularity attracting thousands of race goers and real ale lovers to the event.
Bath Ales five top tips are:
- Line your stomach – You’ll need something that can soak up the beer and there are loads of opportunities at the racecourse to grab a snack in between beers.
- Study the form – The beer list that is! There will be a choice of many different beers and most likely you won’t be able to try them all. So it’s best to have a game plan.
- Start low – We’re talking about the alcohol content here, if you start with a lower abv then you won’t blow out your palate and you will appreciate the stronger beers more towards the end.
- Do it with style – Try picking a style of beer you haven’t tried before; there are some new and exciting beers on the list so be brave!
- Pace yourself – It’s going to be a long night and unlike the horses, it’s not a race. You may want to opt for halves rather than pints and have a quick glass of water every now and again.
Finally, Bath Ales would like to remind everyone to drink responsibly of course.
As well as live racing, this year’s Beer Festival also includes live music from Queen Tribute band, Mercury.
Jo Hall, Executive Director at Bath Racecourse said: “The beer festival evening is massively popular and there is always a great atmosphere and buzz around this race night.
“Bath Ales has a huge selection of beers which helps them appeal to a broad range of our customers. I am sure it will be an excellent race evening and festival.”
