Avon and Somerset Police in Bath are appealing for information to identify a man they want to talk to about an assault in Lambretta’s bar in North Parade on Saturday 22nd February.

A 42-year-old man was hit with a glass, suffering serious cuts and another man with him was also assaulted.

It happened at around 5.50pm and is described as unprovoked. The suspect left the bar before police arrived.

He is described as white, in his mid to late 40s with greying salt and pepper hair. He was about 5ft 8ins tall and was wearing dark clothing.

Police say the bar was busy and many people may have seen the assault. It is believed the man may have been a Wasps rugby supporter – the club played Bath that afternoon.

Anyone with any information, or who can identify the man from the CCTV image, is asked to call PC Rob Turner on 101 quoting crime reference number 18559/14.
