Children and young people who care for a relative are being offered support through the local Young Carers Strategy at a family fun day in Keynsham Baptist Church on Saturday 23rd June.

Carers of all ages can bring their whole family or take time out to pop along on their own to enjoy computer tasters, cookery workshops, fitness sessions, health checks, therapies and a range of other activities for all ages, from 2pm-4pm
The Council’s Young Carers Strategy will be launched by Councillor Simon Allen (Lib-Dem, Radstock), Cabinet Member for Wellbeing, at the family fun day as part of Carers Week.
Cllr Allen said: “Young carers display a truly remarkable commitment in providing much-needed care support at home for their loved ones. We are proud of their devotion and it’s right to offer them our support – right down to just giving them some time to enjoy themselves, such as at the family fun day.
“The key aims of Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Young Carers Strategy are to identify and assess the needs of young carers – raising awareness of the issues they and their families face so that we and our partner agencies can provide them with the support they need.”
