A woman has died from suffering serious burns after being discovered alight at the Sainsbury’s petrol station on the Lower Bristol Road.
Avon Fire and Rescue were alerted to the incident at 7.21pm this evening after reports of a fire at the location. On arrival of the emergency services, the casualty was taken to the RUH with serious burn injuries but the woman later died.
The woman was 55 and from the Bath area.
The petrol station remains sealed off at this current time as Avon and Somerset Police investigate the incident, though it has now been deemed non suspicious and the case has been handed over to the Avon Coroner office to investigate.
Avon Fire and Rescue sent two appliances to the location but left the scene at 8.15pm after concluding the petrol station safe.
Avon and Somerset Police are requesting that any witnesses call 101.
