Following last week’s announcement that Peasedown’s Party in the Park will transform into a huge jubilee party in June, more plans have been unveiled to hold an exhibition that will celebrate the village’s history spanning over the last 75 years.
Mike Auton, who sits on the Party in the Park organising committee, said: “We need your support now to make this the best ever and a fitting tribute to this the Diamond Jubilee. We are looking for local companies to support this family festival by kindly donating money, time or equipment. We are looking for help with printing of promotional materials and posters, hire of marquees or other equipment used on site.
Support from local companies has been so important to make this happen and we hope we can get more companies involved in 2012 to celebrate what will be a historical year for Peasedown St John and the whole UK.”
Mike, who is also a Trustee of Beacon Hall in Peasedown St John, added: “As part of our celebrations on the day, we are holding a tea dance in Beacon Hall. We are also hosting an exhibition about life in the village over the last 75 years and we need your help. Do you have any old photographs, memorabilia or stories you would like to share with the village? This exhibition will be about you so the more people who can contribute, the better.”
If you would like to contribute to the exhibition, get involved with the tea dance or involve your company in supporting Jubilee Party in the Park, place contact Michael Auton on [email protected]
