Award-winning children’s author and writer Tony Robinson will be visiting Bath later this month bringing history to life to over 250 young readers at Kingswood Prep School.

Tony, best known for his acting in Blackadder and presenting Time Team, has written many books on historical subjects, including Tony Robinson’s Kings and Queens and The Worst Children’s Jobs In History which sold over 60,000 copies and won the Best Book with Facts category of the Blue Peter Book Awards.

He has written several television series for children including Maid Marion and Her Merry Men for which he received a BAFTA and a Royal Television Award. He presents Channel 4’s archaeology series Time Team, and played Baldrick in Blackadder.

At the event at 2.00pm on Tuesday 29th January, he will be talking about his latest Weird World of Wonders series and getting the pupils involved in historical activities.

Tony’s books cover fascinating periods of history including ancient Egypt and Greece and the Roman and British Empires. As well as uncovering historically accurate facts, the books point out all the funny, strange, amazing, entertaining, smelly and gory bits from each period along the way. It’s history, but not as it’s usually taught in schools!
