Air Ambulance charities across the country are gearing up to National Air Ambulance Week (NAAW) from 24th to 30th September 2012.
We are inviting you to help the GWAAC celebrate the very first National Air Ambulance Week. Why not ask your school, college, work place or family to help you and get involved too?
The choice of what to do is yours! You could put on your own fundraising event, dressing up or down at school or your place of work, or simply make a donation. The choice is yours.
Clive Dickin, National Director of the Association of Air Ambulances (AAA) said “By supporting your local Air Ambulance you will be making a huge difference, as every penny raised will go a long way in helping to save lives within your community.”
He added “We are delighted to be supported by the Honda Owners Club (GB) who have kindly sponsored the official NAAW wristbands and with the support of local and national media, we will raise awareness at grass roots level of the important lifesaving work undertaken across the country by local Air Ambulances.”
John Christensen Chief Executive of GWAAC said “We are delighted to be working with the other Air Ambulance charities across the country, under the AAA umbrella.
“Here at the Great Western Air Ambulance we are spending the week trying to raise awareness and we will be in some of our local community hotspots such as farmers markets, local supermarkets and shopping centres.
“The reaction we have received from the local community in conjunction with National Air Ambulance week has been very positive with numerous schools and businesses contacting us telling us their plans.
“It’s not too late to get involved. There are initiatives already in place which are simple to implement and need very little pre-planning. We can provide support and all the encouragement you need.
Whatever you decide to do, rest assured that all monies raised will stay locally and help us raise the £1.5 million it costs to keep flying.”
