Staff from Bath & North East Somerset Council and partner organisations who go the extra mile in their work have been recognised at the Employee Excellence Awards.

The panel of judges received over 100 nominations from the public, councillors and staff, and 24 individual and 11 team awards were made at The Pump Rooms on Tuesday March 20.

Winners, who were recognised for their work during 2011, were welcomed by the Chairman of the Council, Cllr Peter Edwards before he and the Leader, Cllr Paul Crossley, presented them with their trophies.

Cllr Crossley, said: “The awards are our way of recognising and thanking those staff and teams that have gone the extra mile to deliver excellent service to everyone who lives in, works in or visits Bath and North East Somerset. Every single member of staff who has received a nomination should be very proud.”

Cllr Edwards added: “I’m delighted that we are able to recognise staff from many of the hundreds of services delivered, not just by the Council, but in our schools and with partners like NHS Bath and North East Somerset and Sirona Care and Health.”
