People living in Bath are being encouraged to sign-up to Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile which takes place in Bath on Sunday 25 March.

The Council, which is hosting the event at Royal Victoria Park, is keen to get as many people as possible to sign-up and get active.

The event will raise money for Sport Relief, to help poor and vulnerable people both in the UK and across some of the world’s poorest countries.

Councillor David Dixon (Lib-Dem, Oldfield), Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: “Bath & North East Somerset Council is delighted to support the Sainsbury’s Sport Relief Mile as we are committed to giving our residents the opportunity to get active. From teeny-tots with their mums and dads, to super sprinters up against the clock there’s something for everyone on the big day. The good thing about this event is that people with a range of fitness levels can take part as there are options to run one, three or six miles.

“Last time, the Bath Mile had over 1,000 participants and raised thousands of pounds for Sport Relief.  This year we want to make the day even bigger and better, but we need even more people to get their trainers on and join in the fun of the Sport Relief Mile.”
