Somer Community Housing Trust, Lilley’s Cider Barn, Mercedes of Bath and Peasedown 1st have all come on board to support the popular community get-together.
Now in its second year, crowds are expected to gather at Beacon Hall in Peasedown St John to celebrate the festive season.
Organised by Parish Councillors Jo Davis and Karen Walker, with support from the Party in the Park Management Team, Christmas in the Park will feature live music from the 20-piece Bath Spa Brass Band, hot food and drink, a visit from Father Christmas, and a performance from local puppetry group – Peasedown Puppets.
Cllr Peter Edwards, the Chairman of Bath and North East Somerset Council, and his wife Anne Edwards, will be the special guests during the evening.
Parish Cllr Jo Davis commented: “Our first event last year attracted almost 300 people. It was a great evening for the whole family which we hope to recreate again this year.“
We’re creating a magical feel to Christmas in the Park with Santa’s Grotto, Christmas music and roasted chestnuts.
”Local community radio station, Somer Valley FM, will be coming along to broadcast and record some vox pops.
Parish Cllr Karen Walker added: “Dom Chambers and the rest of the team at Somer Valley FM have always been very supportive of events we organise in Peasedown St John.”
Local people enjoyed the volunteers from the station coming along last year to record the music and be interviewed. We’re looking forward to having them with us again.
”Christmas in the Park is a family evening, for people of all ages, on Wednesday 21st December, from 7pm-9pm at Beacon Hall, Peasedown St John.
