With the first day of Spring just around the corner, the West of England Sport Trust (Wesport) is encouraging everyone to ‘Spring into Activity’.
8 months on from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games and with the focus on legacy, Wesport (a local sporting charity) has set up a local initiative to encourage people to take part in sport and physical activity. The 15th March will see the start of a free month of sport called Spring into Activity.
Spring into Activity is an opportunity for people from the West of England to take part in free sports activities during the 15th March – 15th April. Sports clubs and leisure centres from across Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire have come together to offer free open sessions and family fun days to anyone wanting to give them a go.
There are over 130 activities including Archery, Tennis, Hockey, Orienteering, Wheelchair Basketball and Karate. With the Easter holidays fast approaching there is bound to be something to keep children entertained and will help to provide some quality family time.
Steve Nelson, Wesport Chief Executive Officer described Spring into Activity as: “A fantastic opportunity to give local sport a go! I am very proud to offer this initiative as part of our local London 2012 legacy. It’s great to see the local sporting community coming together to offer FREE sports activities for anyone from the West of England to get involved in.”
