Trains between Bath Spa Station and Bristol Temple Meads were delayed this morning, with other services also being cancelled after faults with signalling along the line.
First Great Western first reported that trains would be travelling at reduced speed throughout the area due to the problems with the signals but soon passengers were reporting that they were sat on stationary trains with announcements being made that the signals were to blame.
As the problem continued, more trains around the area were cancelled due to the failure of the signals, with many more including London Paddington routes being delayed by up to 40 minutes.
Some of the trains have been cancelled due to the length of delay, and First Great Western tell us that Network Rail are currently on scene trying to rectify the issue.
