Almost seven hours of live music and entertainment are on offer at Peasedown St John’s biggest annual event.
With the final slot in the schedule now full, several top local bands and entertainers will be performing in front of over a thousand people at this year’s Midsummer Party in the Park.
Entertainment Manager Danny Brothers commented: “Party in the Park is the biggest event in the local calendar. It’s a good opportunity for families and friends to get together to enjoy live music, take part in activities and have a fun day out.
“In its short four-year history it has done a lot to put the village on the cultural map, build community spirit and bring pride to the people that live here.”
Popular local tribute act – the Mangledwurzels and Bath-based group ‘Heat’ are among those headlining the event. Others include Neil Sartain, Martin Dimery, the Susan Hill School of Dancing and performances from children at Peasedown Primary to celebrate the school’s centenary.
Midsummer Party in the Park Chairman Nathan Hartley added: “Expect to be ‘wowed’ at Party in the Park this year. The artists we have are some of the best in the region and between them they’ve performed at thousands of venues, festival and special events across the West Country.
“The schedule is almost full with just a few tweaks and additions to be made.”
Others expected to perform include the Bath All Starz cheerleading squad and Leasa Keen’s Zumba dance group. To keep up to date with performance details visit www.peasedownpartyinthepark.org.uk or follow Peasedown’s Party in the Park on Twitter: @peasedownpitp.
Sponsored by B&NES Council, Midsummer Party in the Park 2013 will be held on Beacon Field on Saturday 22nd June from 12 noon – 7 pm.
Other plans include the return of the ‘Peasedown Diamond’ cider, a Farmers’ Market, the Sara Holley Community Award, Somer Valley FM broadcasting live, and several special-guest hosts.
The event’s ‘Midsummer’ theme will see a return to the 1960’s for one day. Festival attendees are invited to dress accordingly.
