Residents have been quick to snap up appointments with career advisors running a new community service.
The career guidance service at Twerton Learning Centre has been welcomed by people of all ages.
They made the most of the service’s launch on Thursday and stopped off to make advance appointments with career advisors.
From January 31st staff from the National Careers Service will operate out of Twerton for one day a week.
The free of charge service is appealing most to the unemployed who want help with compiling a CV and job hunting.
But they want to reach out to everyone who needs any kind of help to consider their future options. This could include a change in career, a new business venture or training opportunities.
Donna Gillmore, a Career Advisor for the National Careers Service, said they wanted to help more people achieve their goals.
She said: “We had a warm and positive response from the Twerton community and have already made several bookings for appointments.”
Career advisors are to “take their work into the community” as an extension of the service they currently offer at the Student Advice Centre at City of Bath College.
They will be at Twerton Learning Centre from 9.15am to 5pm every Thursday from January 31st.
