Bath’s Marks & Spencer Kitchen cafe has been awarded a Food Hygiene Award with Merit from Bath & North East Somerset Council.

Councillor David Dixon (Lib-Dem, Oldfield), the Council’s Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, presented the award to Ben Smith, Unit Manager of M&S Kitchen, and Paul Shillam, Manager of the M&S store on Southgate.

Cllr Dixon said: “Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Public Protection team is pleased to work with local businesses to help them ensure they provide the best possible food and drink service to our residents and visitors.

“We carry out routine inspections of approximately 2,000 food businesses across Bath and North East Somerset to keep standards high. It’s a credit to all the staff involved that we’re able to present our Food Hygiene Award with Merit to M&S Kitchen.”

Paul Shillam, M&S Store Manager, said: “We are very proud to receive the Food Hygiene Award with Merit, we pride ourselves on delivering exceptional food hygiene standards and to receive this award is testament to the hard work and commitment from all here at M&S in Bath. This award ensures that we carry on exceeding the expectations of our valued customers.”

Any businesses that would like to request food safety advice from Bath & North East Somerset Council are encouraged to contact the Public Protection Team on 01225 396753 or [email protected].
