Avon and Somerset Police searching for missing man John Dobson from Bath have found his car this morning after extensive searches using the force’s helicopter and officers.

John Dobson was last seen on Sunday May 20th in the Bear Flat area of Bath. His black Peugeot 206 has been found near the Crown pub in Ostlings Lane in Bathford. Detectives are continuing to search for John, known as Alan to friends, who has now been missing for over a week.

Police had underwater search teams in Bathford this morning as the search continues.

Detective Sergeant Peter Knight said: “John’s car was found in Bathford and had been there since the day he went missing. I would ask people in that area to think back to see if they saw John since he parked his car there.

“Despite extensive enquiries and searches we have been unable to locate John and our concern for him grows. Our efforts to find him will continue and I would urge anyone with information to come forward.”

Mr Dobson is 5ft 11ins tall, of slim build with dark hair. He may be wearing a green anorak and brown walking shoes.

Anyone who has seen Mr Dobson since he went missing should contact Avon and Somerset Police on 101.
