Avon and Somerset Police were called to reports of a disturbance last night at about 9.20pm in Snow Hill in Bath.

Upon arrival, officers found a man in his 30s who had been assaulted, and was immediately rushed to the to the RUH with serious life-threatening chest and abdomen injuries. He currently remains in a critical condition.

The police have arrested two men and a woman on suspicion of attempted murder – and as of this morning, they remain in police custody.

The arrested men are aged 50 and 25. The arrested woman is 50.

Forensic officers remain at the scene while officers carry out house to house inquiries in the Snow Hill area.

It is being stressed that the police believe this to be an isolated incident but they have confirmed that officers have been providing high profile patrols in the area to reassure the local community and also receive information about the incident to assist their enquiries.
