Avon and Somerset Police were called to the M4 between junctions 18 and 19 Westbound this morning just after 7am to reports that a lorry had overturned.
The Bath station sent a number of vehicles as did Great Western Ambulance service and Avon Fire and Rescue to the scene.
The driver has suffered minor injuries and the motorway remains with two lanes currently closed as the clear-up begins.
The Highways Agency are in attendance to clear the debris and traffic is moving when allowed. However there are delays and drivers are advised to leave extra time or avoid the area if possible.
The police would like to thank motorists for their patience.
