Locally based architects Stubbs Rich have underscored a strong start to 2013 by winning the Professional Services category at this year’s Bath Life Awards.
The judges’ citation said Stubbs Rich had won the award because of the practice’s support for graduates, a 20% growth in turnover during 2012, and the quality of its work.
The Bath Life award is Stubbs Rich’s second accolade inside six months. In September the practice won the Environmental Business of the Year Award at the Bath Business Awards.
The independent panel of judges for the Bath Life Awards included former England and Bath Rugby prop David Flatman, and the awards were presented at a black tie dinner at the Assembly Rooms in the city.
Stubbs Rich were praised for supporting three members of staff through their five-year university training, and for mentoring another through her final set of exams to become a qualified architect.
2012 was a strong year for the practice. It worked with private sector clients including Audi, Volkswagen and IKEA, as well as public sector clients such as Bath & North East Somerset Council and the University of Bath, and charity clients such as HorseWorld. Its other clients included both commercial and residential developers.
The company also enhanced its international standing during the year, securing invitations to speak at two conferences in the United States.
Speaking about the Bath Life award, Stubbs Rich partner John Rich said: “Our business is based on creating great designs and delivering exceptional value at the same time, and we believe that is what really sets us apart from the crowd. This award is testament to the Stubbs Rich team’s hard work and commitment and we are thrilled to have won.”
Commenting on the practice’s success, he added: “The recipe for success is being creative, delivering value, keeping your promises, and making the journey enjoyable for everyone.”
