Famous Liverpudlian comedian John Bishop will be joining the One Show team along with Olympic medallists Heather Stanning and her rowing partner Helen Glover as well as pentathlete Samantha Murray for the Christmas light switch on next Tuesday.
The presenters and their special guests will be switching the lights on during a live broadcast of the One Show which will start at 7pm on Tuesday 13th November.
The switch on has been planned in conjunction with the One Show’s Rickshaw Children In Need challenge which was announced as coming through Bath on the 13th last night.
A team of young rickshaw riders, led by Matt will be passing through Bath where he will be welcomed by 5000 enthusiastic supporters cheering him on. The One Show’s Rickshaw Challenge for Children in Need will chart a route from Llandudno to London’s BBC Television Centre – a total of 411miles in eight days.
In 2011 Matt Baker raised a total of £1.9 million through his arduous 8-day Rickshaw Challenge which was featured every night on The One Show and culminated during the programme’s Children in Need Special.
The Christmas Lights Switch On Ceremony is co-ordinated by the Bath Business Improvement District (BID) with support from Bath and North East Somerset Council and The Bath Chronicle.
We’ll be there live as we were last year, and remember you can tag your tweets with the hashtag #bathswitchon.
