Parents of pre-school children are invited to take their little ones along to Southside Youth Hub in Bath for a series of story time sessions hosted by the Bath Library Service.

The half hour sessions will begin at Tuesday 14th May in the Hub Grub Café and continue for six weeks.

Parents are welcome to arrive from 11am, before story time commences at 11.15. The Council hopes that the initial sessions, which will be hosted by Ginny Anderson from Bath Central Library, will encourage and support parents to develop their own story time activities in the future.

Southside Youth Hub is also home to a soft play area, which is very popular with children and parents. In addition, the hub also has its own Community Library which parents are welcome to use to read to their children and borrow books to take home.

Councillor David Dixon (Lib-Dem, Oldfield), Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: “Bath & North East Somerset Council is continuing to work with partners on developing Community Libraries in venues that are accessible to local people. Activities such as these story time sessions are great as they enhance and support the project and allow it to reach people of all ages.”
