Bath City Sound is giving you the opportunity to bag yourself a FREE interview with psychological illusionist Derren Brown.

The new community radio station for Bath are in their last phases of preparation ahead of their launch and are asking for your feedback and input on how the station could sound and feel. In return for your 30 seconds of time, they’ll send you the lengthy interview with Derren via their website.

As we watch his latest show on Channel 4 we see that with any of Derren’s mind related saucery, he is normally trying to influence you. This is the twist as they want to influence them.

“We have obviously done feasibility studies into the demand and viability for a community station in Bath, the last piece of the pie if you will is to get an initial indication of the sort of music people want, the areas they are from, the age groups that would interact and whether you’d actually like to become part of it? Over the coming weeks we can then develop that further and create unique programming opportunities for individuals and groups that really reflect the diverse range of community interest that we have here in Bath.”

The original Bath FM licence 107.9 went from Bath FM, to South West Radio, Total Star and now lies with The Breeze that provides a commercial service targeted at the over 44 market.

“Community participation is paramount to us as we know it is to you, so we’d like you to help us shape the future. By helping us we think it’s only decent if we give you something in return and with Derren being the ‘A lister’ that he is, it certainly ticks that box. He captures the interest and excitement from all walks of life and that should be true of community radio when done properly.

“This means you should be willing to listen, react and involve those you will be serving. We have a unique opportunity to bring Bath based personalities to the airwaves and explore genuinely exciting avenues of broadcasting! Of course the on air fun is just one part of it and it’s the social gain elements that are of real importance.”

The interview with Derren Brown itself is a gripping insight into what makes him tick, and it is 25 minutes of audio excellence. Amongst other things Derren shares with you how he started out, his route into hypnotism, the thought process behind the shows and he offers opinions of what makes a good magician and how you could start out yourself. Its essential listening and never been heard before in Bath.

“From a point of view of Bath City Sound itself we have been quite tipped lipped as a result of some recent technical changes and of those that are now involved.  I can guarantee you these are very exciting times and we have some heavy hitting, award winning radio professionals on board, whose input and support will enable us to provide some incredible opportunities for anyone and everyone that wishes to get involved.”

You can find our very simple and quick survey at www.bathcitysound.com and we will then keep you updated of our progress ahead of the launch and how you can benefit from this Radio Revolution.
