Heavy snowfall is being forecast by the Met Office for most of Friday in Bath. Temperatures are set to drop with strong winds blowing across the city in what could be blizzard conditions.

The latest forecast issued has reported that ‘significant accumulations’ are expected, with light snow and rain moving in during early Saturday morning.

Forecasters believe the snow will begin in Bath at around 5am on Friday morning, and say that it is unlikely to stop until 4am on Saturday.

The roads are set to be gritted by the Council tonight and contingency plans have already been put in place by local schools, Bath College and the two universities.

We’ll be keeping you informed over the next 48 hours as to the latest forecasts and predictions, and remember to visit our live snow information system Snow Track here on nowbath.co.uk for the latest updates on the snow as soon as it arrives.
