Get Ready For Bath Film Festival 2012

The Bath Film Festival team have been working hard, trawling through new and up and coming films to bring an exciting, stimulating and fresh mix of films and filmic events to the city 14th – 25th November 2012.

They have a mouthwatering smorgasbord of irresistible previews like Safety Not Guaranteed, Robot & Frank, Great Expectations, Amour or The Hunt as well as a wonderful array of documentaries such as Room 237, Tuesdays, The Mexican Suitcase, Revenge of the Electric Car or I am Eleven.

New this year is a Bath School of Art and Design Strand, featuring films about fashion, architecture and design among others on Eames, Bill Cunningham New York or Diana Vreeland. On top of that they are thrilled to announce that they have a new Sci-Fi Strand which they are putting on in association with the famous Sci-Fi London Festival.

Also organised are special events such as the BAFTA Masterclass with Stephen Woolley or the CineMe Screenwriting Workshop with Bob Baker. It’s not often you get the chance to witness the birth of a new talent. Bath Film Festival in conjunction with the wonderful IMDb instituted the IMDb New Filmmaker Award.

I like going to the cinema; I love going to a film during the festival.” Bath Film Festival Director Philip Raby.

At the festival there is a buzz, a hum, and a rustle of expectation, a sense of adventure and of community. The film festival gives you novelty, unexpected meetings with friends, discussions and debates, a chance to immerse yourself in film and emerge enlightened as a true film fan. The film festival has atmosphere – packed yet quiet auditoriums – special guests, live events, and surprises. It is the product of the work of dozens of people who have given their time for the love of the movies, not because it’s their job. The film festival is like going on holiday – without having to leave your hometown.”

Simply put, Bath Film Festival is enormous fun.
