Emergency services rushed to the scene of a two-vehicle accident on London Road West yesterday afternoon, after a petrol tanker collided with a car.
Avon Fire and Rescue sent crews from Bath, Brislington and Speedwell who responded to the reports of the road traffic collision.
Two people had been trapped in their car but had been released by paramedics before the fire crews had arrived.
Fortunately there was no fuel leakage from the storage section of the petrol tanker.
There was a fuel spillage from the vehicles as a result of the collision and firefighters used two high pressure hose reels to deal with the spill and make the road safe.
The road was re-opened shortly afterwards.
