Visitors to Bath’s Fashion Museum can now enjoy free admission throughout from Monday 9 to Friday 27 January 2012.
People can take in the following exhibits at no extra charge to the normal Assembly Rooms ticket (£2 for adults or free for children under 16):
- Behind the Scenes: Historic Fashion
- Dress of the Year displays
- A sixteenth-century court dress (a gem of the museum’s collection)
- Ladies’ corsets and crinolines to try on
- 17th century gloves from The Glove Collection Trust
- Replica Victorian sporting dress for children to try on
- Clarke’s Cabinets of Cures – art installation by Mark Clarke, inspired by and including objects from the Fashion Museum
- Top Trends, Autumn/Winter 2011/2012
- 20th century daywear
Of the Fashion Museum’s three galleries, the first gallery and part of the third will be closed from 9th to 27th January to prepare for the museum’s next exhibition, Sport and Fashion, opening on Saturday 4 February. However there is still a lot to enjoy for free.
Joint saver tickets for the Roman Baths and Fashion Museum purchased at the Roman Baths between Monday 2nd and Sunday 8th January will be valid until Sunday 5th February 2012.

Residents are reminded that as both the Fashion Museum and Roman Baths are managed by Bath & North East Somerset Council, entry is free all year round to local residents on production of a Discovery Card.
Signing up for a Discovery Card is free and easy to do. Simply take proof of address and ID along to the Roman Baths main entrance hall, Riverside in Keynsham or The Hollies in Midsomer Norton and a card will be issued to you, valid for three years.
