People can explore some fascinating historical artefacts at an open day held as part of Adult Learners’ Week.
The St John’s Museum Store, on the corner of Locksbrook Road in Bath, will open its doors from 11am to 3pm on Saturday 12 May; enabling visitors to marvel at the range of historical spa equipment from the Spa complex, find out more about furniture made by local craftsmen and see some once-familiar Bath sights. This is also a special opportunity to see the coal truck recently discovered in the railway vaults.
The entrance to the St John’s Museum Store – the site of the old Newbridge Boys School – is located on the corner of Locksbrook Road, just after the Volkswagen dealership on the Upper Bristol Road. No booking is required – just drop in.
Adult Learners’ Week, which runs from 12-18 May, is organised by the National Institute of Adult Continuing Education to inspire people to discover how learning can change their lives. For more information visit http://www.alw.org.uk.
