Children can go on a wild goose chase, hatch their own egg-inspired fashion and learn more about Bath’s famous pigs during Easter holiday activities organised by local museums.
The Roman Baths, Fashion Museum and Victoria Art Gallery are all putting on a number of events from Monday 2 April to Thursday 12 April, 2012.
The Roman Baths is holding a family drop-in session where people can find out about the myth of Bladud and his pigs on Monday 2 April: 10am-1pm & 2pm-4pm.
At the Fashion Museum children can use egg shapes to create unique designs with the “Eggstatic Fashion” sessions which run on Tuesday 3 April: 10.30am-12.30pm & 1.30pm-3.30pm.
At the Victoria Art Gallery “On a Wild Goose Chase” is an active art session for three to seven year olds and runs on Thursday 5 April: 10.30am-12noon & 1.30-3pm. Children can seek out the gallery geese and create a gorgeous goose of their own.
Also at the Gallery is “Signs of Spring” for six to 11-year-olds on Thursday 12 April: 10.30am-12noon & 1.30pm-3pm. Youngsters can spot the seasonal changes in the Gallery’s displays and be inspired to produce a spring collage using a selection of materials.
Admission to Bath & North East Somerset Council’s family drop-in events at the Roman Baths and Fashion Museum is free to local residents on production of a Discovery Card. The Fashion Museum events are also free to National Trust members. Normal entry prices apply to everyone else.
Residents of Bath and North East Somerset can apply for a Discovery Card by taking along two forms of ID to the following Council buildings: the Roman Baths; Riverside in Keynsham; The Hollies in Midsomer Norton and also the new Discovery Card point which has opened in the Council Connect offices at The Guildhall, Bath.
All the Easter events at the Victoria Art Gallery cost £3.75 per child and must be booked in advance on 01225 477244. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
