Avon and Somerset Police in Bath who tracked a stolen iPad from Bath to a house in Bristol later discovered a significant amount of suspected stolen property stored in a one-bedroom flat.
Among more than 100 items were laptops, games consoles, watches and jewellery, clothes, power tools, a bicycle, cannabis and between £2-£3,000 in cash.
Officers working on Operation Relentless found the haul as they investigated a burglary at a house in Weston, Bath on 6th November.
Using the stolen iPad’s tracking system they searched a house in Patchway, Bristol and found it and another stolen iPad and iPhone.
They arrested a 47-year-old man, who has been bailed pending further inquiries, and went on to search his flat in York Road, Bedminster.
Relentless officers in Midsomer Norton found a hidden cannabis factory and around 35 plants when they carried out a Misuse of Drugs warrant at a property in the town on Tuesday 13th November. The factory was concealed behind a false wall in an outbuilding. A 30-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of cannabis production and bailed.
In a second warrant that day in Midsomer Norton, a 60-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of possessing drugs with intent to supply. Officers seized a small amount of cannabis and crack cocaine.
Det Sgt Andy Hodges said: “These arrests show that we are determined to deal robustly with serious acquisitive crime and with drugs offences in our communities.
