Community groups, small businesses, and voluntary and charity sector organisations across Bath are being invited to attend a conference being organised by Bath & North East Somerset Council next month.

Called ‘The Bath City Conference- a hundred ideas for Bath’ it is an opportunity to get people together to discuss and share ideas to improve the city.

It will take place on Wednesday May 2, between 2pm and 8pm 2012 at The Guildhall Dr Jo Farrar, the newly-appointed Chief Executive of the Council, will make a presentation on the challenges the district faces and what action local and central Government will be taking to address these.

There will be different exhibitions looking at subjects including the environment and sustainability, health, wellbeing and culture, the Business Improvement District and improving the public realm.

The conference is being organised by a steering group made up of the Council, the Federation of Bath Residents’ Associations, Small Business Focus and other community representatives.

Cllr David Dixon (Lib-Dem, Oldfield), Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: “Bath & North East Somerset Council is committed to putting people and communities at the heart of everything we do. We want anyone with an interest in the city of Bath, whether they live or work here, to come along. It’s so important that our communities are fully involved in generating ideas and taking positive action for the future of our City.”

More details about the conference will be released nearer the time but the Council is encouraging anyone interested in attending to get in touch now to register their interest. Please contact Stacy Pritchard on 01225 395429 or [email protected].
