Changes To Recycling Centre Times

The opening times for the three local Recycling Centres in 2012/13 have been announced. Although they largely stay the same, the weekend opening times of local recycling centres are being changed.

Mondays to Fridays won’t be affected and the three centres at Midsomer Norton, Keynsham and Bath, will be open as usual from 8am – 4.15pm. At weekends however the centres will open at 9am instead of 8am from 31st March 2012.

Councillor David Dixon (Lib-Dem, Oldfield), Council Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said, “It is really important that Bath & North East Somerset Council provides value for money for local people, which includes ensuring our facilities are open at the right times and when they are most likely to be used.

“The changes have been made following a careful study of when the centres are most used by residents. Our Recycling Centres are very popular with local people and because of the Council’s responsible financial management we do not have to significantly reduce opening hours to balance our budgets.”

From 31 March the opening hours will be:

Monday-Friday 8am-4.15pm

Saturday and Sunday 9am-3.45pm

Bank Holidays 8am – 3.45pm

From November the winter opening hours will change to Sunday 1pm closing.  All other hours will remain the same. For Christmas and New Year and bank holiday opening times please check their website or contact Council Connect.
