Champagne tasting and Georgian dancing are on offer for one night only at Bath’s Fashion Museum next month.

To celebrate Museums at Night 2013, the Fashion Museum is offering special tours of its 50th anniversary exhibition “50 Fabulous Frocks” on Friday 17th May (6pm-8pm).

As part of the experience visitors can choose from either dancing with the Jane Austen dancers in the Assembly Rooms ballroom or taking part in Champagne tastings with a wine expert.

Councillor Cherry Beath (Lib-Dem, Combe Down), Cabinet Member for Sustainable Development, said: “This looks set to be a truly magnificent evening, combining our display of 50 Fabulous Frocks with the romance of a Jane Austen social gathering or the luxury of tasting fine Champagne.

“We hope our residents and visitors alike to take advantage of this special opportunity to check out Bath & North East Somerset Council’s Fashion Museum, along with the wide range of events happening at other local heritage attractions, for Museums at Night 2013.”

Tickets for the “Tours and Dancing” Jane Austen event are £5 each while tickets for the “Tours and Tastings” Champagne experience are £22 each. Visit www.bathboxoffice.org.uk to book now while tickets are still available. Please note, the Champagne tasting event is for over-18s only.

As a special offer, 4 tickets bought together for “Tours and Dancing” can be purchased through Bath Box Office for just £15. Please call Bath Box Office on 01225 463362 to book at the offer price, as this discount is not available online.

As part of Museums at Night 2013, hundreds of museums, galleries, libraries, archives and heritage sites across the country will unlock their doors for special evening events from Thursday 16th to Saturday 18th May. For more details of the events taking place locally, visit www.musemumsatnight.org.uk.
