The Royal United Hospital is hosting an event which focuses on one of the most life changing and emotive conditions – breast cancer.

Guests will have a unique opportunity to listen to Dr Dorothy Goddard, the hospital’s lead Consultant in Diagnostic Breast Imaging, talk about the link between breast cancer and family history, the different types of surgery, reconstruction and prostheses available at the RUH, and about breast care nursing in general.

Dr Goddard says: “The evening will provide guests with an exclusive opportunity to learn about the breast services that the RUH provides to its patients within the local community.  Breast cancer affects thousands of men and women every year and this event offers the members of our community the chance to find out more.”

The event, which has been organised specifically for NHS Foundation Trust Members, will take place on Monday 21 May, from 6-7.30pm. Several other specialists and medical experts will be making presentions, and they will be available throughout the evening to offer advice and information to guests.

If you are not already a member, but would like to attend the Caring for You event this month, it’s not too late to join. You are very welcome to come along and you can sign up on the night.

If you are interested in attending, then please book a place by calling the Membership office on 01225 821299 before Wednesday 16 May.
