The Council will be marking St George’s Day (Tuesday 23rd April) with flags flying above many public buildings, including The Guildhall.
Shoppers in Bath city centre will also have a chance to see St George doing some dragon-slaying on Saturday 20th April.
The Widcombe Mummers have been invited by the Council to perform the traditional story of St George and the Dragon in Bath city centre streets, over the lunchtime period.
They will be joined by women’s Morris Dancing group ‘Mr Wilkins’ Shilling’ and local musicians.
Councillor Rob Appleyard, Chairman of the Council, will also be there to join in the celebrations. He said: “Bath & North East Somerset Council likes to liven up the city centre with events and this marks the start of our spring season when we welcome visitors from all over the UK and abroad.
“This performance of St George and the Dragon is an entertaining and colourful way to celebrate our culture and we hope that shoppers will join in the fun, after all we all love a bit of dragon slaying on a weekend.”
