Bath Spa University has moved up ten places in The 2013 Complete University Guide to the UK’s 116 universities, published yesterday.

The independent league table compiled by Mayfield University Consultants sees Bath Spa move from its 85th spot last year to 75th.

Data from the rankings are derived from official sources and assess a comprehensive range of measures including academic attainment, staffing, research and facilities.

The Complete University Guide highlights Student Satisfaction and Graduate Prospects as two key areas in which Bath Spa has seen significant improvement in the last year.

Professor Christina Slade, Vice-Chancellor of Bath Spa University said: “We are delighted with the news today that we have moved up The Complete University Guide.

“It is testament to the work we are doing here to give our students an experience that is distinctive, creative and fulfilling, and one that will give them a real advantage as they move into their chosen professions. These are challenging times for higher education but this indicates that Bath Spa is providing the right balance of academic support and facilities, social opportunities and career guidance.

“There is obviously more work to be done, and the next few years will be an extremely exciting time for the university as we construct new state-of-the-art teaching facilities at our Newton Park campus, with media facilities to rival anything found at cutting-edge commercial organisations and broadcast companies.”
