One of Bath’s fastest growing businesses is celebrating its first birthday this month, after an impressive year making an impact in the city and the surrounding villages.

Bluebird Care Bath, which provides care to elderly, disabled and vulnerable people in their own homes, was set up by Managing Director Tim Rowland-Jones. He said;

“We have achieved a great success in our first 12 months and in the main that is down to the fantastic staff that I employ and the excellent service we have been providing. At every level of this business from management to care assistants – we have totally dedicated staff who consistently go the extra mile and really make a difference to the lives of our customers.”

More than 15,000 individual care visits were provided in the first year, with October alone seeing a phenomenal 2,500 individual visits to people in their own homes.

The company has created 36 new job positions since the start of trading – that’s 30 care staff with a further 6 permanent positions in the Pierrepont Street office.

Currently more than 90 customers are looked after in their own homes.

Bluebird Care’s first birthday coincided with the firm being shortlisted in this year’s Bath Business awards, which are designed to reward excellence within the Bath & North East Somerset business community.

The Customer Service Award, sponsored by City of Bath College, recognises businesses that go that extra mile for their customers.

The firm was also a finalist in the national Bluebird Care Awards for the Outstanding Public Relations and New Franchise of the Year categories.

Tim, who lives in Green Park, set about launching the care-at-home business following the death of his grandfather, and vowed never to employ anyone who he didn’t think would be suitable looking after a member of his own family;

“Our care staff are excellent, always professional and genuinely care for the people they look after.

“I am most proud of the standard of care we are actually providing to the community. Although we have grown relatively quickly we have managed to maintain the quality customer service throughout.”

Tim added: “As for the next 12 months, our plan is to ensure that we continue to provide the same quality care that are existing customers already receive and to ensure that our high standards absolutely remain.”
