Fidelius, one of Bath’s leading financial services companies, has appointed two directors to its board and three senior staff to its wealth management and employee benefits divisions as the firm continues its strategy of rapid growth and expansion.

Gary McArdle and Marie Humphries join the Board as Finance Director and Human Resources Director respectively with Marie also taking on the responsibility of Company Secretary.

Derek McKechnie joins the employee benefits team as Employee Benefits Director, while Andrew Limb and Jon Coates join Fidelius’ wealth management division as Senior Financial Planners, expanding the team’s service offering.

Gary McArdle joins Fidelius from Hanson PLC, where he was Finance Director of the company’s UK Aggregates business and brings a strong operational background from a diverse range of sectors. Gary has held senior finance roles with a range of blue chip companies including Sainsbury’s, Cable & Wireless and The Energy Group. Gary will be responsible for all aspects of finance as well as managing key third party relationships in the areas of banking, accounting and IT.

Previously Senior Human Resources Business Partner at Close Asset Management and Human Resources Director at Chartwell, Marie Humphries has over twenty years’ experience in the finance sector with particular expertise in developing and building corporate infrastructure.

A specialist employee benefits consultant for the last 14 years, Derek McKechnie joins Fidelius with substantial client experience ranging from blue chip employers to small start-ups. With a background in the City of London and senior roles at Scottish Widows, Legal & General and Royal Sun Alliance, Derek advises on all aspects of employee benefit provision from benefit strategies aligned to recruitment objectives through to staff retention.

Andrew Limb and Jon Coates both join Fidelius to expand the wealth management division. Formerly a Director of Chase de Vere, where he was based for 23 years, Andrew was also a consultant at Chartwell until its merger with Close Asset Management in 2010. Jon joins the firm from Close Brothers and has previously worked for Norwich and Peterborough Building Society and as an Independent Financial Adviser.

Talking about the new appointments, Co-founder and Managing Director of Fidelius Alan Phillips said: “Gary, Marie are both top talents with invaluable experience in their respective fields, who will add to the substantial expertise already present in the firm’s boardroom. These appointments are part of Fidelius’ ongoing plans to grow the business and each director will help us sustain the fast pace of growth, while shaping the overall proposition of the business.”

He continued; “The appointment of Andrew and Jon to the wealth management division reflects our commitment to grow this particular area of the business through attracting talented staff, as well as through aggressive acquisition and investor funding. Andrew and Jon both have excellent track records in advising clients across the full range of financial planning issues, while Derek brings his invaluable expertise and knowledge of the London market to the employee benefits team.”
