Armed Robbery At V Cars Taxi Firm
Avon and Somerset Police were on the hunt last night for a man who robbed Bath’s V Cars at gunpoint and stole money from the safe.

The man entered the taxi firm’s base in Cheltenham Street shortly before 5.20pm last night with a handgun and threatened the owner.
The armed robber made off with a quantity of cash from the safe in premises.
He ran off down the stairs pursued by a male member of staff, who chased him into Westmoreland Street and under the railway line, where he was lost to sight.
Police spent yesterday evening searching for the man and the following description has now been released to the public.

The gun was not fired during the robbery but one of the staff was assaulted.
The Avon and Somerset Police helicopter, call sign Quebec 99, was lifted from its base in Filton to try and locate the robber.
Today, Tuesday 12th February, police are carrying out house-to-house inquiries in the area, searching for any items of evidence and checking CCTV footage.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who may have seen a man matching the description of the robber in the area at around 5.15 to 5.30pm.
