Businesses wishing to prepare for the Olympic Torch Relay, which comes through Bath on 22 May, are being encouraged  to attend informative events organised by Team South West.

The London 2012 Games offer South West businesses of all sizes the chance to capitalise on a wealth of commercial opportunities. More than £6bn worth of contracts, covering 75,000 projects are up for grabs.

A range of business briefings will run in venues around the South West, including Taunton on 24 April, Bristol on 25 April and Cheltenham on 26 April. The Council is urging businesses to take advantage of these sessions in place of a smaller event it was planning to hold in Bath’s Guildhall on 18 April, which has been cancelled.

Team South West is the London 2012 partnership in South West England – encompassing the South West England Board for the 2012 Games, the South West England Operations Groups for the 2012 Games, the County Working Groups and RELAYS (the region’s Legacy Trust project).

Team South West is working closely with businesses in the region to ensure opportunities presented by the 2012 Games are maximised and a legacy of economic growth is created. For more information about the business briefings visit http://www.teamsouthwest.co.uk/business.aspx.
