The 71-year-old woman who was rescued from the waters below North Parade bridge on Wednesday evening last week has died in hospital.

Reports first came in at around 5pm on the 5th December when police were alerted to someone being spotted in the fast flowing water under the bridge.

The bridge was closed for two hours as emergency services attended the scene and police officers rescued the woman from the water below.

The woman was rushed to the Royal United Hospital in Weston via road ambulance in a serious condition.

She died early on Monday morning from her injuries.
